There is a lot going in the Java world lately. A lot of this is already captured is the Snyk JVM Ecosystem Report 2021 based on a joint survey by Azul and Snyk. In addition, Java 17 — the new LTS version — was released in September and Oracle uncovered their plans to shorten the LTS release cycle to every 2 years.

In a recent livestream, I had a discussion with some great folks in the Java world about the highlights of the Snyk Java Ecosystem report and the current developments in the Java world.
